JACOB CLINTON FIRES NO-HITTER AGAINST McCOOK CC
April 13, 2006 Freshman Right-Hander Jacob Clinton threw a complete game no-hitter against McCook CC on Wednesday afternoon at Plainsmen Park. Clinton's no-no is the second in Plainsmen history, as John WIlson threw a 5 inning no-no in 2003 against Otero JC. Clinton gave up no runs, no hits, walked four, and struck out eight MCC hitters on the day while getting a 2-0 victory in game 2. In game one, NJC lost 7-4 although holding early leads of 2-0 and 3-2. NJC gave up a 4 run fourth inning, that gave MCC enough for the win. Freshman Jake Duprel threw 3 strong innings, before coming out with the game tied at 2, due to his pitch count. The split kept NJC tied for second place in the Empire Conference with a 10-8 record, tied with OJC. NJC will travel to La Junta on Friday and Saturday to begin a 4-game set with the Rattlers. Friday's games will start at 1:00 and Saturday's will begin at 12:00. The games can be heard on 105.7 KPMX Radio or on the internet at KPMX.COM. CONGRATULATIONS TO Jacob Clinton ON HIS NO-HITTER!!!!!!!!!! |
