Northeastern split a double header with #14 ranked Lamar CC on Sunday at Plainsmen Park. Lamar jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning on a solo and two run homeruns. John Richard got the Plainsmen on the board with a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first inning. LCC would add another run in the top of the second inning, but Angelo Cordova would shut down the Lopes offense for the rest of the game to give the Plainsmen a 7-4 victory in game one. Game 2 saw the Plainsmen again facing an early deficit, and they again would fight back to hold a 6-5 lead in the fifth inning. Two LCC homeruns would give them a lead and they would hold on the win 9-6. NJC will host Otero JC in double header on Monday beginning at 1:00.
