The NJC Baseball Team will be holding open tryouts for players who graduated in 2007 or before at 1:00 pm at Plainsmen Park. Players do not need to register, and there will be no cost. The tryout will begin at 1:00 pm sharp with players being timed in the 60yd. Infielders and outfielders will be evaluated on their fielding and throwing, as well as hitting. Pitchers will throw bullpens and will be evaluated on mechanics, offspeed stuff, and fastball velocity. We request that players bring their own gloves, bats (wood), as we will provide baseball, as some bats if needed. Players can let the coaching staff they are coming prior to the tryout by emailing Coach Shepherd at bryan.shepherd@njc.edu before the tryout. Plaismen Park is located 1 mile north of the NJC Campus on HWY 138, then left on Pioneer Road and the field is on the left.
