Final Stats

The Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen basketball team jumped out to a 23-point halftime lead on their way to a comfortable 97-56 victory against Peterson Air Force Thursday night.

Northeastern starts the weekend tournament and their season at 1-0 with the win.

NJC had a great start to the game, settling for a 47-24 lead at halftime. The Plainsmen had exceptional play from their point guards, running the offense well and finding open teammates.

One of the teammates was sophomore Mike Dominguez, who finished with a team-high 18 points. A.J. Wilson added 12 points, while Jeron Lewis, the six feet, eight inch sophomore from Fort Wayne, Ind. chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds on the night.

The Plainsmen continue weekend action with a game against New Mexico Military today at 5 p.m. New Mexico is a Division I junior college, but is also a team full of freshman.

NJC's weekend concludes with a match against Air Force Prep Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
