Final Stats

The NJC men's basketball team brings a 10-1 record and a two-game win streak in to the Pepsi Classic on Friday and Saturday in the Bank of Colorado Center.

The Plainsmen defeated McCook on the road, 87-69, on Tuesday. Rashad Austin and LaTravis Turner each dropped in 20 points to lead NJC to victory against the Region IX foe.

Turner pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to go along with his seven steals. Austin grabbed seven boards and hit on 4-of-5 free-throw attempts.

Point guard Omar Leary scored 19 for the second consecutive game while dishing out nine assists. Leary was 3-of-5 from three-point land while hitting 70 percent of his shots from the field.

Head Coach Eddie Trenkle's NJC group takes on Iowa Western at 8 p.m. on Friday to open the Pepsi Classic. The Plainsmen play Air Force Prep on Saturday at 8 p.m.
