Dec. 12, 2006
The Plainsmen cruised past Northeast Nebraska, 68-55, on Saturday to finish the 2-0 weekend. Coach Eddie Trenkle's team owned the glass, pulling down 59 team rebounds compared to Northeast Nebraska's 27. Leary was 3-of-5 from three-point land and the Portland native also passed out six assists. The sophomore point-guard grabbed four rebounds and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Plainsman leading scorer Shane Edwards had 10 points and 12 boards before fouling out of the contest. Transfer Ochigbo Ameh came off the bench to pull down 10 rebounds for NJC. Espanola, N.M., native Mike Dominguez was perfect on the night. The freshman was 3-of-3 from the field, 2-of-2 from the free-throw line and 1-of-1 from the three point arc. Dominguez also pulled down seven boards in the win. The Plainsmen play again on Jan. 9 in Denver against Buckley Air Force Base. |
