STERLING -- The Northeastern Junior College Athletic Department awarded the Lowell Roumph Spirit-Sportsmanship Award during half-time of the men's basketball game Friday, Feb. 8, against Casper College.

This award is presented to individuals who most highly exemplify and honor the Northeastern Junior College Basketball Program, through actions, words, presence and pride. This award was established in 2002 in honor of coach Lowell Roumph, men's basketball coach from 1968 to 2002, whose personal standard of team spirit and sportsmanship was extraordinary.

This year's winner is NJC fan Darold Propp, who shows the sprit and support of all the athletic programs at NJC. Darold can be seen at every event held in the Bank of Colorado Event Center, including many high school events.

"Darold is amazing," Roumph said. "I see him at every single game we have. He makes a special effort to attend all of the games. Darold is also very positive, which, to me, is what I like to see in fans," Roumph added. "He is extraordinary."
