Boulder Guard Joins Plainsmen

May 19, 2008

The Northeastern Junior College Athletic Department and the Plainsmen Men's Basketball Team announced the signing of 6'4", Guard, Mitchell Fraser, from Boulder High School. Fraser was 1st team All Region, 1st Team All Centennial League, All State Honorable Mention, and "Mr. Clutch" for his Boulder Team. Mitchell averaged over 15 points per game and led his team to a 19-11 record.

Fraser is the type of player Northeastern needs to replace outgoing sophomore Mike Dominquez. With a complete game, and ability to score from both behind the arc and going to the basket Mitchell will make an instant impact for the Plainsmen. Northeastern Junior College Head Men's Basketball Coach Eddie Trenkle is extremely happy to have a player of his abilities as a freshman. "Mitchell could step right in and play for us right away as a freshman. He can get to the basket, shoot from the outside and he is really athletic. I am anxious to see what the future holds for this young man," says Trenkle.
