Iva Tomova a 5'8" sophomore from Varna, Bulgaria had an outstanding year as she scored a school record 550 points to break the old record by 82 points. She started all 33 games this year and averaged 16.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in 23.7 minutes of action per game. In addition, she dished out 82 assists and notched 83 steals. She finished second in Region IX in scoring.
Tomova shot 48 percent (208-430) from the field, 40 percent (67-166) from three-point range and 88 percent (67-76) from the charity stripe this season. Tomova's efforts led her to be honored as an All-Region performer. She was also named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team.
Iva recently signed a letter of intent to play at the Colorado School of Mines next season. School of Mines is a NCAA Division II school and participates in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
