Plainswomen Shut Down McCook

Final Stats

The NJC women's basketball team jumped back on the winning track on Friday after dropping two straight games.

Coach Darrel Parker's team held McCook to 17 points and 22 percent shooting in the first half. The Plainswomen went on to notch a convincing Region IX victory, 64-38, at home in Jackson Edwards Arena.

Guernsey, Wyo., freshman Sarah Conner sparked the Plainswomen with 17 points and eight rebounds. The first-year guard knocked down four, three-pointers while passing out three assists and three steals.

Daria Basova continued her banner season on the offensive end by scoring 17 points and hitting all three of her free-throw attempts. The sophomore from Moscow, Russia, contributed three blocked shots and a steal to the NJC defensive effort.

Sterling sophomore Sara Parker came off the bench to pull down her season-high, 10 rebounds. She added seven points, two assists and a steal to the home victory.

Forward Jackie Davis scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. The sophomore from Arvada also came off the bench to contribute a couple assists.
