Basova, Parker Lift Plainswomen Over Sheridan

Final Stats

The Northeastern Junior College women's basketball team got stellar performances from Daria Basova and Sara Parker en route to a 95-71 win at home on Friday night.

Basova scored a season-high 34 points and pulled down 13 boards. The sophomore from Moscow also blocked four shots and came up with two steals.

Parker scored 20 points, powered by a 5-of-6 performance from three-point land. Parker added three rebounds, four assists and three steals to her night.

"I thought the best thing we did tonight is just execute all of our sets," assistant coach Dave Huss said. "We did a good job moving the ball. Sara Parker gave us a spark on the perimeter and Daria going 16-of-21 on the inside was phenomenal. It was a great balance by our whole team."

The Plainswomen moved to 16-5 on the season. They travel to Otero on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game.
