Parker, Davis Record Double-Doubles As Plainswomen Hold Off Otero

Jan. 31, 2007

Final Stats

If you told Otero before the game with Northeastern Junior College that Daria Basova would be held to seven points and four rebounds on Tuesday, they would have felt pretty good about winning the game.

But Darrel Parker's Plainswomen picked up the slack for Basova who found herself in early foul trouble. Basova was held 12 points below her season average, finishing with just seven points and four rebounds. But four Plainswomen scored in double figures as NJC held off Otero, 75-72, in La Junta.

Sterling's Sara Parker led the way for NJC, recording her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Parker hit 2-of-5 three-pointers and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. She was a key contributor to NJC's 16-of-21 night from the free-throw line.

Arvada's Jackie Davis pitched in with a double-double, scoring 11 and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Guards Sarah Conner and Roni Whitman anchored the NJC backcourt with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Conner pulled down seven rebounds while Whitman grabbed four boards and handed out six assists.
