Plainswomen Handle Business At Buckley

The Northeastern Junior College women's basketball team moved to 22-5 with an 83-40 win at Buckley Air Force Base on Tuesday. NJC shot a red-hot, 51 percent in the first half to build a 45-20, halftime lead. Coach Darrel Parker's group held Buckley to 28 percent shooting in the opening session and just 30 percent for the game. Daria Basova led NJC with 15 points and eight rebounds. Basova had three blocked shots and hit 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Jennifer Garner followed up a 15-point performance at Northwest Wyoming with a 12-point effort on Tuesday. Garner chipped in four assists and three steals. Roni Whitman scored 10 and pulled down four rebounds. She contributed two assists and two steals. |
