The NJC women's basketball team won its second game in the NJC roundball classic to move to 3-1

The NJC women's basketball team dropped its first game of the season to Seward County, 82-56, Friday in the NJC Roundball Classic.

Seward County came in to the Bank of Colorado Center fresh off two big victories over Northeastern Oklahoma and Frank Phillips. The Saints rushed out of the gate to take a 38-20 lead at halftime. Seward jumped out to the lead at the break by holding the Plainswomen to 20 percent shooting in the first half.

Seward had four players in double figures with Ilda Chambe and Tegan Cunningham scoring 20 and 19 points, respectively. Cunningham added 14 rebounds to notch a double-double.

Daria Basova recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kristen Forbes chipped in 10 points while Jackie Davis added 9.
