Second-Half Run By NJC Women Seals Deal

Final Stats

The Plainswomen scored 23, unanswered points in the second half to pull away from Southeast Nebraska and move to 6-1 on the season. The teams were locked at 33 at the half in NJC's second contest in the Bank of Colorado Shootout at home.

With the score tied at 55 midway through the second session, the Plainswomen used three-pointers by Jennifer Garner, Jackie Davis and Sarah Conner to fuel the game-clenching run.

NJC shot 59 percent from the field in the second half while turning in a perfect 14-of-14 second-half performance from the free-throw line. Head Coach Darrel Parker's team hit 20-of-22 free throws for the game.

Connor scored all 13 of her points in the second half to spark the late onslaught. Conner added eight rebounds and four assists to the Plainswomen's 82-61 victory.

Daria Basova recorded her third double-double of the season with 26 points and 14 rebounds. The sophomore from Moscow, Russia, hit all eight of her free throws and dished out four assists to lead the Plainswomen's offensive attack.

Peetz sophomore Roni Whitman knocked down two, three-pointers en route to 12 points. The 5-5 guard also chipped in eight assists and six rebounds.

Sophomore Jackie Davis helped NJC with 11 points and six rebounds.
