Plainswomen Run Past Buckley Airforce Base

The NJC women's basketball team rolled past Buckley Air Force Base, 86-22, Saturday in the Bank of Colorado Event Center. The Plainswomen jumped out to an impressive 40-5 lead at halftime while limiting Buckley to 1-of-11 shooting from the field. Coach Darrel Parker's team kept the defensive clamps on in the second half as it held Buckly to 21 percent shooting after halftime. Four NJC players scored in double figures for the game. Daria Basova and Sarah Conner led the way with 16 points each. Basova pulled down nine rebounds while Conner grabbed eight. Roni Whitman added 14 points and seven rebounds to NJC's winning effort while Jackie Davis chipped in 10 points. The Plainswomen out-rebounded Buckley, 75-15, for the game. |
