Six Graduate and Move on to the Next Level!
May 18, 2006 May 12, 2006 brought many tears of joy as well as many tears of sadness at the Northeastern Junior College graduation. The women's basketball team graduated six players from this years 2005-06 team. All six players are graduating to move on to the next level. Muna Nadege is moving on to a great D-1 program at Western Kentucky University. Monique Ross is packing her bags and is headed to Connecticut to the University of Bridgeport. Trissilyn Clayton is moving a little closer to home to be a solid guard for the University of Minnesota at Crookston. Crystal Wipf will take her 6'1" frame to Western State College. Chelsea Wilkins will also be moving to the highest elevation in the nation to play ball at Western State College. Just to make sure the strong friendships that were developed at NJC don't fall apart Kelly Grosshans is also headed to Gunnison to play at Western State College. This is the most girls that Northeastern Junior College has had sign in one year for women's basketball. This goes to show how hard the athletes have worked on and off the court. Graduation is a priority here at NJC and I am proud of each of these student athletes. This is an awesome opportunity for each of the girls and I truly feel they all made great decisions and will contribute greatly to each program. This is a hard group to graduate because they are going to be missed dearly.
