Northeastern overcame many obsticals including a Full Moon to defeat the Lady Knights in North Platte on Tuesday evening. "Sometimes crazy things happen during Full Moons", stated Assistant Coach Rob Haley, "tonight was no exception". After cruising to a game one victory 30-25 things began to get interesting. "We had a pretty good lead in the second game and the Official beckoned for service. North Platte served into the net and out of nowhere the official decides to give the player another chance. Apparently the down official was not ready for the serve. Then it got even better. After we ran off a few more points with Janie Elkins serving, the Lady Knights substituted their Libero into the front row. Both Robby and I went a little crazy yelling to the officials that she was in the front row. The official let the play continue with North Platte winning the point. Unfortunately the officials would not reevaluate the whole play and check the scorebook and libero tracker to see what had happened. Worse than that they then allowed her to sub out and back in without a play taking place. All this while fans and the opposing coaches chuckeled".

That was ok for NJC as they got the "Last Laugh", coming back to finish the match strong and taking a victory 30-25, 27-30, 30-19, 30-13.

"You can never take anything for granted, especially on the road, although the officiating was interesting on both sides of the net", affirmed Haley.

Northeastern continues play on Thursday Sept. 22nd-24th in the Wyo/Braska Shootout.
