The NJC Volleyball team finished second in the Region IX post-season tournament.

The Plainswomen suffered its two tournament losses to tournament champion Western Nebraska, three games to one.

Head Coach Marci Henry's team finished the season 37-9 with productive core group of players coming back for 2007.

NJC opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over Otero. The Plainswomen the took Game One of a winner's bracket match against Western Nebraska. But the Lady Cougars stormed back to take three straight wins and the match.

The Plainswomen reached the championship by defeated Otero for the second time in the tournament. But No. 1 Western Nebraska outlasted NJC for the sixth time on the season to take the championship and move on to the national tournament.
